Northwest Upgrades Service Between Detroit and Ottawa, Canada

DETROIT, Dec. 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Northwest Airlines (Nasdaq: NWAC - News) today announced upgraded service between Detroit and Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
Beginning February 13, 2004, Northwest becomes an all-jet operator in Ottawa, replacing the last 34-passenger Saab 340 turbo-prop airplane with a 50-passenger Canadair Regional Jet (CRJ). The CRJ features a spacious cabin with comfortable two-by-two leather seating and other cabin amenities similar to much larger jets, such as overhead bins, a galley, lavatory, and an efficient climate control system to ensure passenger comfort.
With the upgraded service, Northwest will offer four daily round-trip CRJ flights between Detroit and Ottawa. "Northwest is pleased to offer all-jet service between Detroit and Canada's capital city," said Tom Bach, vice president market planning and Airlink. "With this upgrade, we offer improved service for business and leisure travelers alike who connect at our WorldGateway at Detroit hub to hundreds of destinations worldwide."
