I was at the front desk of the pass bureau last week dealing with some passes that I had...and 2 things struck me as odd.
1. I needed a pen to fill out an application on a pass transaction...the pen said 'Air Wisconsin' on it. How odd...not even a 'Mesaba Airlines' pen.
2. Pass bureau doesn't issue round trip passes on round trip ticket stock. Instead round trips are issued on 2 one-way conjunction passes. To me this is a bit 'Mickey Mouse' to say the least. Apparently my source in the pass bureau said they no longer have round trip ticket stock as 'the company can't afford' to supply pass bureau with roundtrip ticket stock. I was also informed that issuing 2 one way conjunction tickets is much more time consuming to issue. This is a very poor way to enhance productivity and the ability of accounting to track these passes.
Apparently these same people that 'can't afford' to stock the pass bureau with round trip ticket stock also feel the need to cut expenses and increasing revenues by committing criminal acts and stealing from the company 401k.
My friends you are witnessing a management team that is not only corrupt but also guilty of mismanagement and grand theft(401k shortfall.)
That Air Wisconsin pen really got me thinking...of all the possible logos on a pen...it had to be another competing airline...
Maybe we are dealing with a 'house of cards.' If the 401k is a few hundred thousand dollars short (nobody knows for sure how much it is short) there are more than likely other company accounts that are also short.
I would be VERY interested to see how else people at the top are ripping off Mesaba shareholders and employees. I've always wondered what vendor is responsible for washing the fleet. In the past I"ve seen asians washing a Saab in the hangar. It wouldn't surprise me if Paul Foley had a company on the side that...washes airplanes and charges exorbitant fees...I could see Foley awarding his own little 'business' the contract to wash the fleet and not even being close to the lowest bidder...
