When displaced from a trip, you have two options time available, and 24 hour callout. Whats the deal with both of them? I was told that scheduling needs to call you no later than 1.5 hours after your original start time (on time available). anyone know, whats the deel with that, and last out? is that possible with either 24 hr call out or time available? thanks

Check the contract, but I think on time avail it's just like a reserve callout.

I usually take the 24hr call that way I know what coming...plus if you commute it works out to be a better deal.

The thing to keep in mind when you select 24 hour call out is that scheduling owns you your entire last work day. If your pulled trip was supposed to end at noon they can work you all day long so your rolling the dice if you need to be finished up at your original end time.

They own your first work day too.

Correct and the displaced pilot is required to call and check in with scheduling the day prior so the 24 hours call out can just as easily screw over a commuter. Would suck for them to tell you "hi, we have a 6am show for you tomorrow". Also, displaced pilots getting paid trip guarantee go to the very top of the call list since it doesn't increase company payroll.

I think the 3 things guaranteed are this: Start time of the trip, end time of the trip + up to 3 hours, and the credit. What they have you do in that time period is up to them.
Chime in if different.

That is true if you chose normal "time available".

24 hour call out is a whole different monster.

Here it is and the 24 hr callout the important part call before noon on your day off to see if there is a trip starting on the next day.

I. Trip Displacement
When a pilot is removed from a scheduled trip or portion of a trip
and another pilot is assigned to fly in his place (e.g., for OE or
management flying), he shall be credited for the scheduled value of
the trip, or any reassigned trips, whichever is greater. At the time
of the displacement, the displaced pilot shall select one of the
following reassignment options:
1. Option 1: The displaced pilot may be placed on reserve on
the day(s) of his originally scheduled trip provided
the pilot is released from reserve at the scheduled
conclusion of his originally scheduled trip, unless
mutually agreed otherwise. The displaced pilot’s
contact periods will be the same as his originally
scheduled duty periods. If assigned to any trips,
such trips must conclude within three (3) hours of
the conclusion of his originally scheduled trip. If not
assigned to a trip that extends beyond the originally
scheduled trip, the pilot shall be released at the
conclusion of his originally scheduled trip.
2. Option 2: The displaced pilot may opt for a reassignment that
will be made by the Company not less than twentyfour
(24) hours before the new trip report time. A
reassignment under Option 2 shall be for a specific
trip assignment(s) that commences and ends within
the same calendar day(s) as the original trip
assignment. If the pilot has not received an
assignment by the day before the first day of his
originally scheduled trip, and the pilot is off on that
day, the pilot will call Crew Scheduling prior to noon
on his day off to determine whether he has a
scheduled assignment. If the pilot has not been
given an assignment, or has been given an
assignment that is for a fewer number of days than
the days of his originally scheduled trip and he has
not been given another assignment before the
termination of his reassigned duty period, the
Company shall give him twenty-four (24) hours
notice of any additional trip(s). A pilot who has
been given a trip assignment that ends on the last
day of his originally scheduled trip will be released
at the end of the assigned trip, subject to
paragraph L. of this Section. The Company will not
reassign the pilot to a trip that would interfere with
any other originally scheduled trip
