Does anybody now what Mesaba Pays during training. Is it just per deim or the 75/hrs, or both? Do you get your own room? How long is training and what is the schedule like? Are there any breaks in training

thanks

better than most

The new hire pay is approx. $23 and hour based on a 75/hour month which is the training min gaurentee. The training is usually 5 days a week for the ground school (indoc/gen subjects/and systems) Thought in the past some have been stuck with a thur-Mon week! If you live outside a 50 mile ring from the training center, you will be given a hotel room by yourself. training is 8-5 with a hour lunch. No per diem.....until after done with initial training. for those of you starting the next class....here is some news....but it may change......8 Avro slots......6 saab slots for a class total of 14.....the slots will be adjusted as needed or as current pilots bid for them i believe......so the new hires will get what is left over....and if you are starting on Monday....i am sure the current new hires will give you advice.....on the classes.

Average training for new hire lets assume 2 months total.

Monthly Training Salary $1725 x 2 = $3450
Your Own Free hotel Room = $2500

Before you even hit IOE you are ahead of the Pinnacle guy by about $6000. If he was a Gulfstream PFTer than you are ahead of him by $16000 + Dignity.

if you want people to stop hammering mesaba - maybe you should stop "selling" it. Just answer the guys' questions...

Wychor Must Go

He can't, because he's part of the MEC that sold us down the river. I agree - answer the question and move on. We dont want to hear the additional ALPA propoganda.

Can you imagine what they're gonna tell these poor new-hires during the indoc class?

Hey XJXJXJ!
I don't do much posts here but I'm sick of your smarta$$ comments. You're making other fellow XJ pilots look bad. Because of individuals like you, the rest of the XJ pilots are getting a bad reputation. So stop acting like an a$$!

About the contract. Yes, there are improvements from the '96 contract. There are also items that took a step backwards or stayed the same (i.e. instructor agreement, same FO rates for all types, etc).
Now can I live with this new contract? Yes
Do I like the new contract? NO
In my opinion, the first officers once again got the shaft.

Why don't you stick to your own crappy contract and stop trying to sell it to everyone else.

If you are so happy with your sh!tty new contract, then good for you. However, I'm tired of you attacking all of us at Pinnacle (especially all of us former GIA guys). We stood by you through the last 2+ years that you have been fighting for a fair contract, and you repay us with this bullsh!t. Thankfully most of the Mesaba pilots are not ungrateful little sh!ts like yourself.

To summarize, if you are happy with your contract, GOOD! Now shut the he!! up about it already!!! I for one am tired of the whole thing. It's over, let's move on.

I agree with everyone that thinks the insulting and the ragging on pilots has to stop. I am a Mesaba pilot and am embarrassed for our few hot-headed slanderers on this site. I apologize for these people and for their off-balance banter against others. Walking the halls at Mesaba, I am proud of the people I work with. My experience with the pilot group as a whole has been better than I ever imagined. Unfortunately there are a few of us that don't quite fit the profile of a Mesaba pilot. You know who you are, and believe me, your names do get tossed around the crew room.

To all XJ and other slanderers, KNOCK IT OFF. Focus on the good in this industry; think about the positive for once.
