It looks like some lucky new Saab pilot was awarded minneapolis. Does anyone know how long the current new hires will sit on reserve down in Memphis. I realize that some of the pilots have been on reserve for years.....i am more looking at the numbers....how many pilots from the bottom in memphis are on reserve? I heard half?

I just talked to a friend of mine that is in a newhire class right now and he is 30 numbers away from MSP in the Saab. But I know the junior guy (30 above him) in MSP and he has been on reserve in DET and MEM for the last 2 years and is barely holding a reserve in MSP so I guess you can take that any way you want.

I am certainly not "in the know" - that's just what I heard.

The award will be revised and the new hire will not be going to MSP. Crew planning knows that there is a problem again, just like on the last award. Although I would not be surprised to see some of the new hire in MSP before summer is out.

As far as reserve there is around 10 in MEM and 25 in MSP. Three years of commuting from MSP to MEM to sit reserve. I can tell you that I have moved up 250 numbers since I was hired and the number under me hasnt changed. We have just shrunk that much. If we dont see real growth as in new AC plan on sitting reserve for a long time.

1. What is MSP?

2. If you sit reserve for a "long time" does that affect your pay? Does your pay stay at the 1st year status?

Fly safe,

TA:cool: :D

I don't have all the airport call signs memorized either.

I just type them into www.airnav.com
