Summary:
Provide leadership, planning and management of the Flight Operations' pilots, as well as general management of the flight operations procedures and organization.
Essential Functions:

Participate in interviewing, hiring and counseling of aircraft crewmembers.
Attend industry meetings as appropriate.
Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, within the department and occasionally across the division. Some external customer, vendor, manager and/or regulatory official communications may be required.
Listen, understand and negotiate within the department and occasionally across the division.
Lead highly capable teams across the department, acting as a source of inspiration and motivation to attain goads and deliver results.
Build and maintain a collaborative and engaged environment within multiple functions by providing positive, encouraging and informative input/feedback.
Recruit, hire, train and/or develop staff within the function to ensure all direct reports are adequately and properly trained for their duties and responsibilities. Establish career paths for staff development, set skill depth and provide on-the-job training as needed.
Prepare measurable function goals and objectives to meet all position objectives, as well as department and division goals. Take corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy.
Establish and maintain internal and external relationships and networks within the department that promote effective achievement of some operational and primarily strategic objectives.
Business ExcellenceExercise administrative and supervisory control over Domicile Chief Pilots, ensuring crew and hub compliance with company standards. (Also People Excellence)
Ensure safe, efficient, and effective flight operations and procedures for the airline.
Ensure that all company pilots conform to standards as outlined in the applicable FARs and company policies through coordination with Domicile Chief Pilots and training division.
Act as a pilot as required to maintain proficiency.
Perform duties as assigned in the Emergency Procedure Manual.
Available as an on call flight manager, acting as a technical resource as scheduled.
Assess situations using some expert skills or integrate varied alternatives to reach timely and appropriate solutions.
Manage multiple function's problems and projects to resolve issues, aggressively pursuing the multiple function's business objectives.
Manage multiple function activities to ensure business objectives are met on time, within budget and with maximum accuracy and quality.
Strategic ExcellenceEnsure coordination of Flight Operations policies with all other departments.
Acquire and apply new and innovative approaches within multiple functions.
Effectively translate ideas into actions within multiple functions and advance them within the department.
Effectively prepare multiple functions for the future while maintaining current success and momentum.
Effectively lead change within multiple functions, applying a disciplined approach to change, building commitment, and creating an environment where people take calculated risks.

Qualifications5- 8 years of air carrier experience, with at least 3 years experience managing people. (Required)
High School Diploma or equivalent. (Required)
Airline transport Pilot Certificate and valid First Class Medical Certificate. (Required)
General business knowledge required; (Required)
Additional Qualifications
Basic computer skills required, to include proficiency in word processing and email software. (Required)
Strong influencing skills. (Required)
Proven ability to work effectively in a team enviornment and cross-functionally. (Required)
Strong written and verbal communication skills. (Required)
Knowledgeable in the content and application of the agreement between the company and the pilot's association. (Required)
