Well after 2 months of UAL service at DEN seems MESA has already pi$$ed off UAL with constant cancellations and delays.

That's impressive I thought it would take at least twice this long :D Can't wait to see what heppens when they have to start to operate more A/C for UAL!

You are right...

2 cancellations in 2 months has them really PO'd. I checked this one out with my former work mates at DENOO. I know you have your panties in a bunch about YV in general, but don't let Mesa pilots inability to get a better contract with being unsafe or unprofessional. Sorry folks, just a bland attempt at reality here. I would call it rather amazing given the minimal resources, lack of training and the shyster mentality that seems to be YV's managers modus operandi. BTW Does AW publish there completion rates etc? I think we scraped by with 98.7% last week. Easy to do out west, not so easy with the East Coast and NO SPARE A/C per our partners requests...My own DCA Domicle seems to be the worst....Peace...

mesa has standards?

Sounds about right for Mesa... I heard around the rumor mill they tried to outbid Colgan on a bunch of the EAS lines Colgan has in Maine...

Hey Rottweiller, Got some facts or is this just more of you and your cronies B.S? My monies on the latter. You guys are pathetic with your totally made up crap!

And your point? I heard that they will take anyone in China or Cuba. Maybe you need to head in that direction.

Just think: in two months we'll have UA pilots flying in Denver for us.

Then who to blame ... ?

I wouldn't worry too much about it. It's just another lame attempt by someone on this board to point the finger and blame someone else for their own problems. Happens here on a daily basis. People just can't seem to accept responsiblility for their own actions, so it makes them feel better to blame others.

I'm sure that even when they can't drum up a reason to blame Mesa, they'll come up with someone, and it won't be themselves. Trust me.

Had an F9 jumpseater the other day tell me that they had to get one or two 737-200's out to cover Mesa flying due to reliability problems.

of course

He didn't. Mesa had to GIVE UP the flying b/c of the deal with United. Another nice try though. -Bean

HEY,

Enough MESA bashing. They aren't that bad. Heck they even give a little to SkyWest. Our mechanics in TUS love'em cause were always fixin their airplanes, and they always pay on time.

:D THANK YOU MESA:D

Hey, does anyone know what else MESA is to blame for? I think it's MESA's fault that Mars bars aren't sold in the US anymore.

:D

Well, maybe MESA sucks, but I've got my resume in there and hoping for an application/phone call. I'd rather fly a jet for 20k than a crusty, busted-up-a$$ old 1972, 17-thousand-hour Baron for 20k!!!

BRING ON THE FLAMES!!!!!

Jeff

And frieghtdog your post sums up the exact problem with this industry right now. People are willing to work for nothing. I was in the same boat as you and so were alot of people. Yes its great flying a brand new piece of tin around but now that i am doing it and i sit there thinking, its sure as hell worth alot more than 20K a year. Chriist! its not even a livable wage. I am not saying that my airline is the best or not, I understand your situation but before you go work for MESA or any other regional take a look at things. Do you want to work 5 day trips with a minimum day off guarantee of 10 days for a line holder or 8 for a reserve? Well then have fun at MESA. I wish you all the best but come back to this post in a year or so and then tell me how you feel.

And to ward off all of you who are reading this and getting ready to post to tell me I am a jackass. I too am a regional FO making less than what I think i should be paid and yes I am happy to have a job but there is a line somewhere as to what people are willing to work for: pay and work rules and most of all QUALITY OF LIFE. MESA LOWERED THE BAR and thats my two cents on it, oh and one more thing, I dont care about your opinion, so dont post if youre gonna complain about the above.

50 seat jet FO- 20K a year
100 seat jet FO - 80-90K a year

50 seats being an E/CRJ and 100 being a DC-9/737-200. So basically what youre telling me is that youre willing to fly a DC-9/737-2 around for 40 grand a year? thats ludicrous, go talk to someone on the 9 or 737 at like northwest or when airways had them and ask them what they made. It shouldnt matter if its a regional or a major, you get paid by seats.
