Mesa Pilots Begin Contract Negotiations with Management
Friday January 11, 2:58 pm ET
PHOENIX, Jan. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Mesa Air Group (Nasdaq: MESA - News) pilots, who are represented by the Air Line Pilots Association, Int'l (ALPA), began expedited negotiations with management this week to achieve a significantly improved contract that would attract and retain qualified professionals. Pilots of Mesa Air Group fly as Delta Connection, US Airways Express, United Express, go!, and Mesa Airlines.

Rest can be found here.

Expedited negotiations? I hope that phrase came from Johhnie O's side!

I hope you ******************************bags dont roll over and work for free........again.......

expedite: to accomplish promptly, as a piece of business;

The part I don't get is the "Expedited" talks began.

Wasn't their contract amendable last September? I may just be a stupid pilot, but they're already getting started 4 months LATE.

I just hope that when their MEC recommends they sign the new "good" contract (years from now when it comes), they'll bear in mind that the dictionary their MEC uses may be different than the one issued to mere mortals.

Years from now? :confused: How about we all wait first and see how far Mesa makes it past this coming Monday?

Don't expect anything good to come from these negotiations. The pilot group/MEC/Neg. committee has absolutely no leverage. Due to the financial situation at Mesa, you can wholeheartedly expect Mesa management to ask for concessions. The pilots will eventually find themselves fighting for the status quo. IMO, the best scenario they can hope for is a buyout from a better regional. Nonetheless, good luck fellas! ZP

This may mark the first time the phrase "Thank you sir, may I have another?" is put in writing in an airline contract.

"Thank you sirs, may we all have another" is more factual!!! HA HA
