Everytime I see those teabaggers around airports I think of the collection of trash that run parking lot carnivals. Those windbreakers. Are you kidding me? They are Walmart with wings and they are unsafe. One of them literally cut across approach lanes into the gate area and cut me off to get to his gate. What a d*******bag.

Which plane were you flying that day? The 747? the B-52? SR71? The Space Shuttle? The Barney Copter? Mir?

Douchebag.

While I disagree with characterization of Carney, what is it with Mesa? You guys want to be taken seriously and treated like professionals but you look LIKE CRAP! Put on a real uniform and take some pride in your apperance. It's not a crime to wear the pilot cap or even the dress jacket. And take off those stupid windbreakers!

I also want to know if they teach you to completely ignore every line drawn on the ramp or what? Mesa can't seem to find the centerline of any taxi way. They consistently cut thru the run-up blocks at IAD without permission from ground or go in and out the wrong alley on the ramp just because they appear to be too lazy to do it right! Maybe that's the problem there. Not the contract. You want to be taken seriously? Start acting like professionals. Rant over.

ROFL. I actually got a kick out of this post. I'm not sure why, its just humorous in a very juvenile sort of way.

 Good stuff, shoulda ran 'em over in the 747

Are you sure you didn't cut him off while driving your tug across the ramp paying no attention to anyone? You low life rampers are biggest cause of accidents at every station. Go play with all your toy planes son.

Carnies. Circus folk. Nomads, you know. Smell like cabbage. Small hands.

LOL! Now that quote has a familiar ring...can't seem to place it though. Simpsons? South Park?

they seem to always give way to my 747, maybe yours is smaller than mine?

but you all are kinda hard to see way down there anyway

"this post" would be your post. This thread, however, had something to do with mesa pilots.

Yeah, yeah. I intended to quote his post in my reply but for whatever reason I failed to do so. :)

Pilots are like children

These threads clearly illustrate that the regional airline pilots are their own worst enemy. So much backstabbing, bickering and slander.

You folks who claim to be "professionals" are hardly that, and you deserve your slave wages.

Kudos to ROJO for being "that guy" in this thread. buzzkill

I dont think that all Mesa pilots are Carneys....
I think they are all an evil group of OOMPA LOOMPAs!!!! :)

Just kidding-- you all need to lighten up

Let me get this straight, Mesa guys wear windbreakers as company approved uniform? We did away with the hat here at XJET and a lot of guys were happy with that, I never minded wearing mine. But windbreakers, this can't be correct and please tell me they are not purple and yellow with a big MESA on the back!

Hey, hey, hey...I don't appreciate you associating carney folk with Mesa Trash. They are certainly several steps higher on the food chain.

How much did you pay for your job.

If my memory serves correct, it was $8000 for the B1900 FO job at your company with 11.95 hourly rates, until late 90's.

That some expensive uniform I would say.

I can honestly agree with this post. In NAshville not to long ago we landed before a Mesa aircraft and were taxing in on the J line like we should and as we turned left about 70 degrees to head towards our gate the idiot in the mesa crj comes screaming in cutting across the apron and had we not been paying attention we would have turned into him. My captain was Pissed needless to say. We called ground controller about it and they said the ramp was uncontrolled but people had been complaining about them doing this on a number of occasions. Its one thing if you are the only one on the ramp and get off the line to taxi inn but when other aircraft are taxing right infront of you and are doing things the proper way show some courtesy and stay professional. But we are talking about Mesa here so who knows.

I have seen them and they look gross. Purple with a big Mesa Logo and Mesa written on the upper left hand chest. I swear to you i saw a mesa guy in CLT not to long ago with the windbreaker on pulling a bright RED suitcase and a black flight case getting off the employee bus and then went up to his flight. I was shocked.

Anyone else think that the windbreakers are all part of JO's master plan by using psyops against his employees?

Take away the "officer's" uniform that traditionally garnered respect from people.
Replace it with something McDonalds give shift supervisors to wear while supervising trash runs to the dumpster.
Prevent employee self-esteem in appearance.
Treat said employees like dogsh!t.
Low self-esteem employees accept it, after all they are "lucky" to have this blue collar job compared to other blue collar jobs.
Stand back and reap the profits.
Get arrested for insider trading again. (Wait, that's part of MY plan for him!)

Anyone think I'm off base?

How about that ERJ you people waisted on landing and made a fixed base cockpit trainer out of it?

Do you remember that?

Probably not, so how about asking your Captain..........

Your sh--t does not smell like roses. Remember that and stop basing others.

Oh for heaven's sake, get it right....it's now a CABIN trainer and it's not "that ERJ," it's the Beaumont Rake. ;)

You (few) X-Jet guys that keep patting yourselves on the back for how skilled you are, think about this:

-Your airline is hiring people with 600TT with no specific training.
Mesa san juan grads at least have an associates degree and 2 years of airline specific training.

- Mesa pilots do not choose the uniform, it is company issued. Many do not choose to wear the windbreaker. (It is blue and not purple)

- MEsa pilots get hired as often if not more often at every other airline out there.

-I know a guy who washed out of Cape Air ground school and found himself in the right seat of an expressjet ERJ 2 months later.

- Jonathan Ornstien ran your airline too... While that was going on, your company was WAY worse than current day Mesa. $10,000 PFT? 8 month Ab-inition program? Puhlease....

Regionals are all the same. Get off your high horse.

I'd rather have someone who has been instructing with 600TT than some SanJuaner Dooshbag with 250 TT and an associates degree.

PS - Why is Mesa's on time performance so poor on the west coast?? hell, maybe it's the same on the east coast as well...............

Its like middle school all over again! Dont forget to use your Noxema kids so you dont break out in IAH! Go play flight sim and pretend your a 747 Capt. or somthing. So childish!

Well I'll agree to disagree. I didn't go to a 121 carrier until I had 2500TT, 1200Dual Given, an ATP, an 1300 hours of 135 PIC in a Caravan and a C402, and a 4 year degree........ BUT....... When I had 600TT of which 250 of them were in VFR traffic patterns.... I was not even in the ballpark of 121 type knowlege that san juaner FO's I've flown with have had....

Would I do it differently if I could? Hell no... I had alot of fun getting there and wouldn't trade those times for anything.

Simple.... Mesa Airlines is a horribly run, piss poor airline!

I don't disagree! I just hate seeing people put down the YV pilot group... Many folks there are good people, good pilots, and don't deserve what they put up with from YV management; let alone slams from pilots at other regionals.
