Am interviewing there in a few weeks and would like ANY and ALL information people have about instructing there. learning there, working, etc. Based on the web site, they look very professional, fly great airplanes, and provide their instructors with benefits, fairly good pay, and 2 consecutive days off...sounds good to me! Only drawback I can see so far is where it is located.

Anyone care to comment on anything regarding MAPD?

Thank you very much

You can send a PM to bobbysamd. He instructed there, and will likely have a LOT to say.

Thanks, again, Timebuilder, for the intro. :)

Lucky, check your PMs. I do have a few things to say about MAPD.

Some of it is repetitive and some is better shared privately. Therefore, I'll entertain all PM requests. Check your PMs.

I went through that program a few years ago, before it was called MPDC. I guess they had to change the name after Freedom was established and some of us graduates started turning down GS classes in the defense and support of all alpa pilots. its an awesome flight school and I highly recommend taking a job if Rich Castle offers it to you. the A36 and BE58, in my opinion, are 2 of the best planes ever made. F-towns not all that bad of a place, I thought it would be hell at first too. I was there for 2 years and cant talk that much crap about it, 12 months should fly by and as a bonus I heard Crystal is gone.

Farmington

F-towns not all that bad of a place . . . .
I guess that's a matter of opinion. One of the longest years of my life was the three months I spent in Farmington, New Mexico.

But, it's true, MAPD has nice equipment, and the upside for instructors, i.e. getting a Mesa interview, clearly outweighs the Farmington downside.

I started at MAPD nearly ten years ago to this day.

Drop me a private if you want the particulars and/or search MAPD on the board.
