I am thinking if it would be great for me to attend the PACE program after I get 250 hours. How much does the program cost and about how many percent of the students become hired by Mesa? Also later, if I want to move up to a larger airlines, how will the major airline think of me as an candidate? Would they look at me as a PFT pilot?

Don't pick up the PACE

That is really the bottom-line about such programs as PACE. You very well might be viewed with disfavor as someone who tried to cut in line.

PACE and its bretheren are really pay-for-interview schemes with no guarantees at the end. Yes, more than likely you will get "the interview." But what if you are not hired? Then you are out all that money with nothing really to show for it except for a bunch of esoteric sim time in your logbook and a very expensive multi rating if you choose Option B.

If you still want to go the Mesa route, you would be better served by enrolling in the full ab initio MAPD . You get the guaranteed interview at the end, provided that you play the game right, but, more importantly, you receive a degree from an accredited college and all your ratings, which are recognized everywhere.

Hope that helps. Good luck with your plans.

Woah MESA!

Before you commit to Mesa, check out what a vast majority of pilots think of Mesa in the Regional section of this board. Be sure that Mesa is the kind of operation you want to work for before you go through a PFT program like that. Many people dislike Johnny O (CEO of MESA), so watch your back if you go.
