I spoke to a less than cordial Comair pilot (FO) on the CVG bus the other day about the ACA/MESA mess. He said that maybe CMR would get all its rightful flying back from ACA if we disappeared. My question - is this the general attitude of CMR pilots towards ACA guys flying the red white and blue? And is it really best for CMR if that happens? Frustrating considering how much effort I put in to get each and every CMR pilot in my jumpseat.

But to not have an interest in the MESA mess is beyond me. To think that JO will stop at ACA is ridiculous. He has stated before he has his sights on DAL flying and NWA flying. He will find a way to work around DALPAs scope issues, in exchange for flying his CRJs for some low-ball rate. It's not about the numbers for him at this point. He is completely ego-driven trying to show everyone that an oppressed boy who gets kicked out of a fraternity because he was Jewish (from USA Today) can really make waves.

How do we fix it? Pilots from all the regionals need to write their elected reps and go to bat for ACA. MESA at IAD is bad for the industry and bad for competition in the DC area. Yeah I know it takes time and effort and why should you show support of another pilot group? (brotherhood or something?) If MESA does not acquire ACA, they will have no prayer in financing the jets they have promised all their partners and will likely crawl back under the little rock it came from. If they do, then JO will move on to his next conquest and he may have his sights on you.

First you have to understand that Wholly Owned Subs really don't care for the contract carriers! Now they shouldn't make it personal, but we feel all flying should stay within our company. It's always going to be that way period. However I have respect for ACA, they have a good pilot group over there.
I, as a piedmont pilot get to see the Contract Carriers all over the US Airways Network and it really doesn't make us happy. MESA is the biggest example.... Mesa Grows and 2 of the 3 WO's shrink.. Doesn't seem fare.. Oh Well.... Gotta love this buisness..

You should have asked this CMR FO if their flying was "rightfully theirs" in 1998. Then you should have asked him if it would still be "their flying" if Delta buys the Dorniers and asks us to fly them.

Who's flying????

I have never seen a more twisted thread than this one so I feel that I have to respond. I can't for the life of me understand why CMR pilots would be upset at ACA or any other contract company that flies under the Delta colors.

This is just the type of thinking that makes the RJDC possible. MINE MINE MINE!!!!

If you want to place ownership on the flying IT BELONGS TO THE DELTA PILOTS! Period.

CMR pilots have no right to be upset that another carrier is flying those routes when they are flying MAINLINE routes. When CMR becomes an independent carrier, then they can claim ownership. Until then, they have no right, claim, or whatever to ANY amount of flying that they do.

Honestly, it sounds like a little kid whose been given a toy by their parents and doesn't want to share. The parents still own the toy, but you can't tell the child that.

No, I am not affiliated with Delta. Just amazed at the hypocrisy.

Later.

I found the pilots at CMR to be very professional and not once have I experienced any animosity regarding ACA flying delta connection. As a matter of fact it's just the opposite. They love us in the CVG because we do all the $#it garbage flying they used to do...while they overnight in places like Miami, Savanah, the ATL, etc etc, we look forward to the Toledo 4:45 show in January. If they want back all of that flying...that's fine...I won't miss going to DAY 6 times a day.

As far as keeping the flying within Delta wholly owned that fight is between CMR and Delta.

The first think we do is line up all the MESA pilots who voted yes on that contract and beat them with wet noddles! But really this contract is the reason why JO has been able to do this crap. Just listen to his weekly VM. 877-MESA-CEO. He always credits Mesa's growth on the contracts and that they wouldn't be growing with out the pilots crontact.

Wake up guys this is going to get much worse before it gets better. And with the MPDP Mesa is spawning a whole new generation of whores.

I think that FO is full of $h!t. I like the ACA guys.

I am a CMR FO and I have nothing against you. Everyone I talk to here is hoping you guys pull this low cost carrier off. If it wasn't for the Delta buy out Comair would be what you guys are trying to do. Stay strong.
