I just found out from a buddy of mine who flies for them. The rumor is true, they are opening a HNL base and I think 6 a/c total out there to island hop.
I think it's kind of cool they are going out there. I thought for sure AE would go there first. Yay, more options!

Anyone hear when this is supposed to happen. Last I heard they were supposed to start operations in February and that's hear now but they are not operating in Hawaii yet from what I hear. Do you think they will have a lot of in-house pilots who will want to move to Hawaii? Pretty expensive living costs out there for an airline that pays bottom dollar.
 
I was told that the company originally wanted to sweeten the deal with subsidized housing for the crews going out there. However, double the amount of pilots bid for the HNL base, so now mesa says "Great! You're on your own!"
They start up in April.
