I love Mesa's look .. Black members only jackets with a MESA patch. where can I get one? They look so awsome. Or do I have to me mesa pilot to get one.

Actually, they are blue....

And yes, It is a da_mned embarrassment.... Believe me we aren't exactly thrilled about them here... When it was brought up to JO on the mesa yahoo group thingie, he quickly dismissed as our problem.... D!ck....

Anyhow, The airways system gets airways uniforms, and the HP and UAL systems get screwed.... We can wear company leather jackets, which aren't too bad, but they cost like 400 bones... F That!

i have never seen a "real live mesa pilot" just wanting to know what is the deal with the uniforms and why are they so much different then other airlines?

The Uniforms are the same (Dark Pants, White shirts, silver eppaulettes, wings, ties etc..) Unless you are in the USAir system, there are no blazers or hats. As for jackets, we can wear london fog trenches (200 bucks), leather jackets (400 bucks), or cheezy zip up windbreaker type things (15 bucks). Most opt for the cheap jackets.

Since there is a lack of standardization in uniforms here, sometimes some guys and gals really come to work looking like crap... Most don't though..

I've been torn for years over the mesa uniform.

For the un-informed, Mesa pilots flying in the US airways express system wear the full US airways uniform. Blazer, hat, trench coat, just like all the U xpress carriers. Mesa Pilots flying the America west and United routes wear the same basic uniform without the blazer hat or trenchcoat. No hats at all and as far as coats go, You wear a leather bomber jacket (just like almost everybody elses) or a navy blue jacket with mesa logo on the pocket. either a heavier parka style or a more light weight jacket.

I've been all over the mesa system so I've worn it all. It wasn't bad getting all spiffed up in the US air hat, blazer, trenchcoat, leather gloves. Definitley felt special. But, it also sucked to lug all that stuff around from plane to plane hotel to hotel.

These days I sport the good old navy blue parka. Kinda cheesie but, when not in use, very easy to strap it to the roller board and go. Also don't have to worry about lugging a hat everywhere.

Still Don't know which scenario I like better.......

U just change from the blazer to black leather jackets, just like southwest. So now we have the option between the blazer or jacket, but the jacket is $400. Just like U some people still wear the blazer, some have the new jacket. But in time I think everyone will have the jacket, blazer are out dated.

I rode on the van with a MESA crew today. (They were flying on the UAL side.) First of all, they were a very nice crew. BUT
The uniform issue was terrible.
The FO had on the blue mesa wind-breaker & black boots (looked like work boots).
This was the most unprofessional look I have ever seen.
Spend the extra $400 and leave the wind breakers and home....
