I recently heard Mesa would be opening a base up at BWI, is there any truth to this and if there is, does anyone know which plane will be based out of there? Also their minimums state 1,000 and 100, but do they really call guys back with that amount of flight time? I hear they like 1800 and 200 at least before they call for an interview.

When I applied I had 1940 TT and 130 ME. I got the call 3 months later.

It doesn't matter if you want to work at Mesa or elsewhere; if you are interested in working for a company, send you resume as soon as you have the minimums. Then update every 90 days to show your interest in working there.

BWI? Flying for who? I could be wrong but I don't think so. -Bean

Unless Mesa starts feeding for Southwest, I put that rumor at 0%. USAir all but pulled out after Southwest showed up, and United only does a little bit of flying out of there, maybe 10-15 flights a day. I don't even know if America West flies there at all.

1800 and 200me? Wow, Mesa must be picky these days. Is that 1800 and 200 so you can get typed in the Beech and babysit some 300 hour guy/girl? Let the Mesa bashing begin!! Just kidding, I'm just suprised they look for that much flight time.

Piedmont

Sounds like Piedmont. I applied to them with 1150 and 105 ME and they haven't called me back yet. It's been at least a month and a half. I do know of a guy who just got hired with them with 600 total and about 50 hrs. MEL, but he went to one of them fancy schools.

Mtnjam,

I am happy to hear that you are still at it. . Stephanie Everson is now in charge of the hiring at Mesa. I spoke to a friend who is a check airman there last week and he stated that the "hiring times" were all across the board. Go ahead and fill out the online app. on airlineapps.com and shoot her an email with your resume.

Stephanie Everson, She is manager-recruitment and selection. Her number is 602-685-4140

PDT has one last class of 14 starting on the 8th of sept. The others who have interviewed in recent times and that were successful were sent to a pool with no specific class date other than a ballpark expect a "fall class date" sometime. Keep a close eye on Airways, Sept. will be a telling month. The guy you are referring to was a UND grad. Those low on multi-engine time were to accumulate 30 hours of sim time prior to showing up to class.

good luck my friend,

as a side note- Go with number 1 or you may be waiting a lot longer...

Mtn,

throw those replies out from the other thread from a month or so ago, completely not applicable.

If Mesa did pick up any flying out of BWI, I'd be willing to bet they'd run it out of the IAD domicile anyway. Just with a van ride on either end.....

We're not opening a BWI base, it's a PVR base. Gonna do MX there, too. OJ has found that labor rates are MUCH cheaper South of the border.
