Didn't realize they had closed it... when did that happen? I just saw a couple crews wandering through a week or two ago.

I heard Mesa is basically hiring street CA's for the CRJ, but figured BNA was one of the more senior cities and a new-hire would never see it (every airline that opens a hub or mini-base or whatever ALWAYS goes senior in Nashville).

Mesa does not hire street CA for the CRJ. The only street captains they hired recenly were for the Dash 8 (2 years ago). Upgrade right now on the CRJ went down to 2 years and 2 months for IAD CRJ CA.

Thanks for the update. That's what happens when a bunch of guys start talking who aren't (and haven't been) at the regional level for a couple years. :)

Sorry to hear about the BNA base, I bet there's some aggravated people who had a taste of being home-based for a short period of time. :(

Good luck with the new year!

You bet, a lot of guys bought houses down there and they are pretty pissed. But being pissed at Mesa is a pretty daily occurence.

Hmmmm...what does that mean. A couple guys talking about a Mesa BNA base....

No kidding, talk about being out of the loop.

(sorry guys, inside joke with lear)

You're not considering doing the street captain thing again are you? :)

The YV BNA base should still be open. You might be confusing the closure with the F8 ATL base.

Not really... have some other irons in the fire right now, it was just a discussion of possibilities, especially since they had a Nashville base (HAD being the operative word).

The only way I'd consider it is if it was a street CA direct into at least the 50-seater CRJ, if not the 70- or 90- seater, and BNA-based (which is home for me).

Otherwise, it doesn't pay anywhere NEAR enough to pay my bills. I'm currently making $60k a year with 10 days off a month, the only way I'd make a move until my grievance is done is if I DRAMATICALLY increased my pay or I found something that made within a few thousand of the same thing I do now and was home more.

Same thing basically everyone looks for in a flying job. More pay and more days off with the wife and kids. ;)

p.s. Longhorn, can't imagine who would sit around talking sh*t like that... *whistling innocently* :D

Mesa? Shoot, even factoring commuting you'd probably still have more days off at home if you flew for a respectable airline.
