What are the current Mesa BE1900 bases? Also, is Mesa planning on getting rid of their 1900s? Thanks

Mesa (Actually Air Midwest) 1900 Bases

Mesa operates all of their 1900D aircraft under the Air Midwest certificate (with the exception of the one 1900 under the Freedom certificate.....we won't talk about that one!).

Air Midwest still uses the outstation basing philosophy that was discredited at all other regionals years ago (saves hotel bills....but makes the whole operation a massive cluster-f*ck) Therefore, they have a bunch of pilot bases basically servicing a few mini-hubs. These mini-hubs are Pittsburgh (USAirways), Charlotte (USAirways), Kansas City (USAirways), Dallas (Mesa EAS), Albuquerque (Mesa EAS), and Phoenix (Mesa EAS and America West).

The pilot domiciles that service these mini-hubs are as follows:

ATH - Athens, Georgia
AVL - Asheville, North Carolina
CHS - Charleston, South Carolina
CKB - Clarksburg, West Virginia
CLT - Charlotte, North Carolina (Reserve Only)
CNM - Carlsbad, New Mexico
DUJ - DuBois, Pennsylvania
FMN - Farmington, New Mexico (Larger Base - Reserve and Hard Lines)
GCK - Garden City, Kansas
HOB - Hobbs, New Mexico
IGM - Kingman, Arizona
JBR - Jonesboro, Arkansas
LIT - Little Rock, Arkansas
MCI - Kansas City, Missouri (Reserve Only)
MSS - Massena, New York
PIT - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (Reserve and Hard Lines)
PKB - Parkersburg, West Virginia
SLN - Salina, Kansas

Lost all bases in Florida as of January 9'th.

Losing bases in Hagerstown, MD; Brownwood, Texas & Ponca City, Oklahoma this month, so they no longer count.

Just announced 10 aircraft are being leased to Big Sky beginning this month, so the 1900 operation is greatly reduced in size (down to roughly a little over 20 or so).

Hope this helps. If you have any questions regarding the Air Midwest operation or Mesa, just PM me.

plus your chief pilot can claim he was there at Kitty Hawk with the Wright Brothers trying to get them to talk to the "track-ahs".
