I was wondering if any of the active flight crews could post some memory items for the rj? Maybe just to give some of the new guys/gals a little head start on training...

thanks in advance

You need to get in touch with someone who flies for the airline you are going to work for. Each airline is going to have different memory items or similar memory items worded differently. And for most companies, these things are often required to be memorized verbatim, so you can see why it wouldn't do you any good to study random memory items.

If you haven't been hired by any particular airline yet, you can get yourself a study guide for just about any aircraft out there to learn systems, but until you are certain of which aircraft you will be flying, I wouldn't recommend stuffing your brain with systems....you'll need that brain space later for the actual thing.

....

Knowing which RJ would help too; as in the ERJ or CRJ!?

Should have been around COEX in 97 when they first got the RJunk. 36 memory items. Gotta love the corp.!

well hopefully the rj but with todays economy and the uncertain biz you never know....

On my type ride we were going through the memory items and we got to "two engine flameout"...I asked if he wanted the items before or after I scream OH $H1T...:)

So how many are there now? What's the excuse after a company has owned a type for numerous years but still hasn't gotten rid of any of the 30+ memory items?

OK...here are a few.....Smoke related? O2 mask on..establish communications. That's 4 or 5 of them right there. Brakes? Release...anti skid off...reapply. Let me suggest rather than learn memory items, which can differ from company to company, that you check out "Fly the Wing" and "Turbine Pilot" both from Iowa University Press. They are both good preparation for any airline ground school so when you do go to training you'll know what they are talking about and will get more out of ground school.

I would say at Comair we have 25+ memory items. Indy Air, in the same plane, has like 4.

ASA is supposedly going to something like 6 memory items total (down from 25 or so) but it hasn't happened yet. However, if you can remember "O2 masks...Don and 100%, Crew communications...establish" and "Airspeed...not more than 250 knots, Landing gear lever...down" you've knocked out 4 or 5 right there.

We have memory items for:
Engine fire in flight
Engine fire on ground
Cabin smoke
Rapid decompression
Emergency descent
Pitch trim runaway
Aileron trim runaway
Yaw trim runaway
Aborted takeoff
Uncommanded swerving on ground

Most are like 2 or 3 items only, except for emergency descent.

sounds familiar. Same airframe different company equals unequal amount of memory items.

IMHO memory items should be only things that will get you killed if you don't do them immediately. Not 14-line, "if a then b" type BS. Oh, and oil pressure in the yellow arc is NOT worthy of a memory item.

QRH ( rev 35(a), 1-4(q) )

GENERIC EMERGENCY - IMMEDIATE ACTION ITEMS

(1) USA Today ...................... Emergency Stow
(2) Is There a Light Blinking ... Push It
(3) Immediate Action Items .. Ask Your First Officer if he rembers any
(4) Colon ............................. Evacuate

If you are in Crew Scheduling, you can get into the Company Publications from your computer's network and download the whole POH if it turns you on. There are also some guide books for sale here and there.
