The following is especially important to pilots since they can’t pull your medical if you aren’t taking drugs and have any diseases.
SSRI's such as Zyban, (serotonin reuptake inhibitors), will not show up on a 10 or 12 panel blood test.
I would definitely stay away from this classification of drugs. What most people don't realize is that there are safe alternatives for most drugs that can be obtained without a prescription because they are not "drugs" according to the FDA’s description,.the FD&C Act defines drugs by their intended use, as "(A) articles intended for use in the DIAGNOSIS, CURE, MITIGATION, TREATMENT, or PREVENTION of disease..and (B) articles (other than food) intended to affect the structure or any function of the body of man or other animals" [FD&C Act, sec. 201(g)(1)].
Many conditions are defined as "diseases" so they must be treated by an approved and tested..lol, ya right, so the drug companies can get exclusive rights in patenting and selling them at inflated prices to Americans.
If you research, you will find several OTC remedies that not only treat the symptoms but totally cure them.
Medicine is in the business of treating disease, not curing it. That would be financial suicide for most pharmaceutical companies, instead, they want you to get brainwashed by bombarding you with commercials saying you need this or that for just about anything. The FDA is a sham and is in bed with the powerful lobbyist that get politicians elected.
If I were you, I would seek out a other alternatives that are not allowed to make claims as to what they treat or they would be arrested.
There are countless publications with double blind trials in other countries that prove the efficacy of these alternatives.
The last thing doctors want you to know about is these cures, it would put them out of business.
Do a little research on your own and if you still have any questions you can contact me at one of my clinics. Just P.M. me.
I run and operate several highly successful integrated medical outpatient facilities that incorporate everything from allopathic (M.D.), D.O.'s and D.C.'s with Physical Therapists and Acupuncturists.
When you see our doctors we ALL get involved with patient management to find the best way to treat and possibly (God forbid) cure your ailment.
I love what I do because of the incredible results we get with non-invasive care.
Some of these remedies have been around for thousands of years but you won't hear about them from you regular doctor. It is illegal for a Homeopathic, food supplement or other non-drug to make claims as to what they treat.
This information is available through proper channels, as a little bit of advice, if you suffer from say, URE, aka upper reflux esophagitis, take a teaspoon full of straight Vinegar and wait 1 minute. Heart burn Gone!
Without going into the reason why this works for MOST but not ALL cases would take up much space.
Drugs are necessary for many conditions, but there is serious problems in this country with regard to their approval method, just look at the Cox2 inhibitors such as Celebrex and Vioxx and a host of other recently pulled drug that passed approval but you get the idea..
If there is one thing you take from this post is this,
Never and I mean Never take a drug that doesn't have a generic equivalent, you are just a lab rat for new drugs that cost and arm and a leg that does nothing more than one that has been around for several years to get generic approval.
At least with a generic, you know it's been around long enough to be relatively safe, a new drug is simply dangerous because it's new and long term use hasn't yet been documented enough to ensure it's safety.
P.M. me if you want the truth from a physician that doesn't give in to the pressures of politics, money and greed brought upon by unscrupulous reps forcing free samples down our throats with brainwashed patients asking for a drug they saw on T.V.
