Medical with a DUI

Have a friend that recently had a DUI, wondering what the status of his medical will be. He says its his first offense. I told him he could lose his medical. Was I wrong? He is more worried about his job at a regional, than his medical. Any info?

As long as he reported it to the FAA, he should be fine, but another one could result in loss of medical

However, if they find it and were not told, they get very unhappy.
