I received the "application accepted" e-mail...does this mean that I WILL get an interview or that I'm being CONSIDERED for an interview?

Thanks

What did your letter say, specifically?

Mine from 2006 said, "We have received your application and it has met our requirements for acceptance. Your application is on file for future interview selection. We will contact you when selected for a future interview date."

It took many months, but I did indeed get a call for an interview when they got to me. If that's the letter you got as well, you should be in line!

Application Accepted

Mine said:

"We have received your application and it has met our requirements for acceptance. We will retain your application on file for future interview selection for up to 11 months. At that time, you will need to reapply or provide updated information in order to continue to be considered for employment after that date (please utilize the attached form). We will contact you when you are selected for a future interview date."

That was from an e-mail received on November 27th. It seems to say when, not if, selected. Not sure how much water that would hold if I never get the interview invitation, though.

Interesting... that's almost identical to the one I got, except the "for up to 11 months" language is new. I guess they figure if they haven't gotten to your number by then, they want updated flight times and such.

I don't know what the wait times are right now, but I didn't get an interview invite for over 6 months after I got that "app accepted" e-mail. (That was when I was waiting for a specific domicile, though, which isn't a concern anymore.)

Hang tight, it sounds like you're in line, at least!

Did you guys get an attachment on the e-mail? The form that's referred to for updates? I didn't get that. Other than that, mine was the same.

When you are granted an interview you must possess and present a First Class Medical that is within the first 6 months of the date issued (ATP/PIC privileges in effect).

Please provide us with any changes in employment. You are required to keep us undated on any address or telephone changes (if we do not have a correct address on file you will be eliminated from the interview pool). You may submit current information by faxing it to 614-239-4826 or by mailing it to the address listed below in care of NETJETS, Pilot Recruitment. Please no telephone calls!

We would like to thank you for considering NETJETS for future employment.

Yep - that's the one I got. I guess that's great news then.

Good luck all.

Update Form

Yes, there was a .pdf file attached. If you need a copy PM me and will send it to you.

Timeline

I sent in my app Nov 5th, they got it on the 7th, got the app accepted e-mail on the 27th. Haven't heard anything since, but I understand they were shut down the last two weeks of December and have received over 10,000 apps since the TA passed.

10,000 apps or 10,000 resumes? That's alot of apps.

Unknown

I would guess resumes, but the term he used was apps. Not exactly news from Derinda herself, it was more like info from a friend who flies with a NJA guy in the Reserves. Good point, that would be a ridiculous number of apps.

Although, if I understand it correctly, you now have to send in a completed app with your resume and cover letter. That's changed since I sent mine in, but there have been other threads on that subject. I looked at the NJA pilot recruitment website last week and they've got the app there in .pdf format. If that's the case, they may have 10,000 apps but they weren't all sent out by HR in response to resumes and cover letters being submitted.

Hope that helps clarify,

Swede

That makes more sence. Before Dec they would have to go over each resume to see if you qualify, then mail out the app. But with apps online now, pilots could just fill it out and send the app in with the other stuff.

Hey Swede, My dates are the same as yours, except I got the email for an interview on Jan 3rd. I interview later this month. I have comparable time to yours, no mil, and I had several internal recs. I'm also typed on two of the aircraft they use, but I'm not really sure that's important since you do a complete sim as though it was the first time. Do you know anyone inside?

Internal Contacts

I have two internal recs and am working on a third and fourth. I talked to one of them recently and all he said was that I am at the mercy of HR's timeline at this point. Knowing that there is a fine line between being persistent and being a pest, I am erring on the side of caution.

If they're getting that many apps, do you think anyone has much of a chance anymore without an internal LOR?

everyone in my interview group had internal LORs......I do not know for sure if it is a must.....but they are swimming in apps now and can be very picky....and they said they will be getting very picky....i hope i get picked!
