I heard that one of the airframers- Cessna, Dassault, somebody had started a pilot's bbs. Anyone know anything about this?

Just as a general point of information, I was just advised that Bombardier will stop production on the Global Express in November.

I believe that Bombardier is haulting production of the Lear, Challenger, and Global Exp. for roughly 4 mo.'s to meet the slow-down in demand. Can't remember where I read that.

Thanks for the response. I read in one of the trades that one of the manufacturers, I think it was Cessna, was starting a pilot's BBS for the use of pilots flying their aircraft; then someone told me that an airframer was doing it. I think it's a good idea. It gives pilots a place to exchange information about good operating practices for their aircraft and it gives the manufacturer a place to advise pilots of problems they are encountering prior to the issuance of a Maintenance Operational Letter or Customer Bulletin.

Gulfstream is willing to start a Pilot's BBS for their pilots. I was hoping to talk with someone who was using the other manufacturer's board to see what they liked about it and how it could be improved so Gulfstream would get it right the first time.

What's a BBS?

Hehehehe... in the PRE-Internet days people (including me) used to use BBS's (Bulletin Board Systems) in which you would dial in to the specific server and use the services offered... many libraries hosted these... slow, and mainly text only because most modems were 2400 or 9600 baud....

Wow I am only 34 and I feel really old now!

OK, first note to the bitheads in IT at Gulfstream - Don't call it a BBS.
