Job Description

Maintain and revises as necessary AirTran?s Emergency Response Manual (ERM)
? Coordinates Emergency Response Notification Exercises
? On an annual basis, plans and coordinates all major facilities
evacuation plans

? Oversees the requirement of Go-Kits for all departments affected

? Insures interface attributes are functional for the emergency response process

? Follows-up with task items as assigned to departments

? On a biennial basis plans and coordinates a full scale drill

? Provides a Quality Control function to the Emergency Response Process, ensures each department follows up with assigned items and is at all times prepared for a major event

? Observes airport emergency response events and applies lessons learned to the program

? Assist and drill stations in their emergency response

? Trains certified instructors on Emergency Response items and briefs stations on duties

? Monitors functionality of each center dedicated to ERM, which includes the Emergency Command Center

? Coordinates and monitors status of AirTran?s family assistance plan in accordance with Aviation Disaster Family Assistance Act of 1996 ( 49 U.S.C. 1136 and 41113)

? Works closely with the Vice President of Operations who assumes responsibility for the Emergency Command Center (ECC) until such time as all teams are in place

? On a periodic basis briefs the leadership on the degree of preparedness of the plan

? Sits on the corporate safety council

? Completes tasks as assigned by the Director Corporate Safety

? Participates in the Station audit program


QUALIFICATIONS

? Values: Belief and support of AirTran Airways? Guiding Principles: Safety, Courtesy, Pride, Teamwork, and Innovation

? Work Authorization: Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship (current or future)

? Background: Ability to provide 10 years of employment, education, unemployment history per FAR 108.33

? Background: Completion of FBI criminal history check that reveals no felony convictions in most recent 10 years

? Internal Eligibility: Successful completion of probationary period as stated in Crew Member Handbook.

? Must have excellent planning and communication skills

? Must be willing to travel to all stations in the system

? Must be willing to travel on a moments notice

? Must have had previous experience in planning and coordinating emergency response events

? Must be familiar with regulatory requirements pertaining to the Aviation Disaster Family Assistance Act of 1996

? Must be computer literate using reservation systems and data bases

? Must have self initiate and self motivation
