I'm heading to Malta..

Need intel.

1) Hotels?
2) Food?
3) Sights?
4) What to do?
5) What NOT to do?

Big WWII air battles. Luqa airfield comes to mind. I think there is a museum on the island. Also, Knights Templar were headquartered there in the middle-ages. I've heard that you should not drink the water.

Never been there myself......

Hit Pachaville (sp?) anytime after 11pm, and don't expect to get home before the sun comes up. The place rocks....although it will be a bit quieter in the winter than in summer.

spent a week there getting maintenance done and when I left my liver had packed up and gone on strike, my one kidney was comatose and the other was puking into the toilet!

Day time take a stroll around Valletta, war museum, and up to the silent city....lots of history.

Enjoy

Oh, and the Sliema Hotel normally has good crew rates and is very nicely situated on the water. Lots of restaurants/pubs nearby.

no worries, have a good trip.

by the way you can get around the island very reasonably during the day on the bus service......maybe a $ at the most, and I would recommend taxi's at night if you hit the hot spots.
