As long as I remember, I wanted to fly a C-130 ... well, never made it to the Airforce and now my only hope civilian cargo on L-100 .... I only know of Lynden Air Cargo where I have sent a few messages to with no response.

My question is how can I get my hands on this bird ... is a life long dream .....

Hello,
Yes, and they also frequent all the PACAF bases doing intra-theatre parts support for the Air Force. At least this was the case back in 98-00.

regards,

ex-Navy rotorhead

P.S. I think that also operate some L-188s in a cargo config., but again this was 4 years ago.

Try calling them on the phone or showing up in person to talk with the pilots.

I used to do some of their sim sessions at SimuFlite in Atlanta, but I don't have any connections anymore.

I have a friend up here who used to fly for them a few years back. I have asked him about their hiring situation.

He said basically they are looking for people with heavy aircraft time and at least 5000TT and 3000ME. He also mentioned that they rarely hire because most pilots there stick around. And most, if not all new pilots are directly referred from current pilots.

Ya know JimBob, ya'll have to wait your turn. She is really a classy lady and I don't wanna put her in the wrong hands too soon. After all, it took weeks to court her from the herd. Dang though, she is purdy huh?
