Any stories of the "significant other" either cheating on you or you cheatin' on your mate while a crew member? The reason I am asking is I'm pretty sure my (soon to be ex) flight attendant girlfriend is cheating on me. Yea go ahead and take your jabs but you know what AIDS stands for right? (I'm sure you all have heard this one but I am making a point)...Airline Induced Divorced Sydrome!!! Are the regionals a good place to be married and do marriages last while flying? Or just in a relationship...period? I know the normal we don't get paid Sh!t etc. and we all know that but "can a relationship work while flying as a pilot for a regional major etc.?"

Any strong marraige will last any weak marriage will break even under the smallest strain. It's not the job nor the hours/days spent away from each other it's the time spent together. Every job I've ever had has required me to be away atleast part of the time IE. Military deployments, as a firefighter, and now as a Pilot.

Maybe thats the key Forced seperation at a early age

Now if I could just figure out where these new clothes are from cause they sure don't fit me.......

You know what they say... "If your first wife isn't in the business, your second wife will be".

My wife and I will be hitting the 5 year mark in a couple months and its been great. She's also a pilot and we've gone through a lot together in this crazy business. We know quite a few other pilot couples that are doing well. Its still about the person though...and a lot of trust, love & understanding. Now if only she'd let me date now and then.... :)

Whats her name, I tell ya :D

My fiancee and I are both pilots. It's great! We used to fly at a regional together all the time. It was the best. I could fly with him every trip. We are so alike that it all works for us. Trust is the key. I was in a relationship where I couldn't trust the guy as far as I could throw him. It makes all the difference in the world. I agree with the person that said if it is based on love it will work....if on money...forget about it! Good luck!

yep she's cheating I can bet you anything. if she goes from on extreme to the other, watch out!!! Date outside the industry!!!

WRONG! WRONG! WRONG!

I ONLY date within the industry for many reasons:

1.) We have more in common (jobs, love of aviation, ties to the industry, ect.)
2.) Where else are you backed with a federal, state and local background check with random drug testing?
3.) There's a combined understanding of the industry and it's effect on relationships.
4.) Who else can you "talk shop" with and not bore the person to death?
5.) Ther's more trust, respect and admiration.

You dont date one of them thar woman pilots, do ya?!?! You mean you date flight attendants?

I thought it was "Anally Injected Death Synrome." Well, that's what I heard anyway.
