Folks,

Just a heads up for those who may not have considered it.

There are airline management lurkers on this message board who post to get info from the unsuspecting.

Why is this important?

There are several airline pilot groups who are in negotiations with their respective management groups and any edge that management can get will save them money. Any money that management saves on the contract with their pilot groups will cost the pilots in compensation.

Guess what? If you are reading this board to help get hired at one of these companies you will be DIRECTLY impacted if hired by them!

Think about it. And folks, be careful what you say out there. MY future income may depend on it. ;)

Read through the employee handbook...most airlines now have a clause in there that forbids employees from posting on an internet forum about their airline. I've seen this clause used and don't think they can't find you. Everyone has an IP address...and that IP address is easily traced to an ISP who has a log of who was using that IP address and at what time.

Hopefully nobody here is sharing company confidential data -- I'm sure that's what the clause is meant to prohibit.

As for resolving IP addresses to customer names, I sure would hope no ISP would do that without a subpoena. I think the chances of an airline going to that length to find out who is posting about per diem rates would be pretty slim. :D

if you want to know something....

look up the current contract. Most airline contracts are now online for the world to look at. Ours sure is.

it would be par for the course for management
to violate one's right to free expression to get
what they want...hell, they don't live up to their
word in a large percentage of cases.

Go to Google.com

Search for free anonymous proxy server.

Write down the IP address and port number of one.

In Internet Explorer go to Tools

Go to Internet Options

Go to the Connections Tab

Go to Lan Settings

Check use a Proxy server and then include the IP address and port number from step three.

Now go to netscape.com and get a free e-mail address (Clue, don't use your real name)

Now register on your favorite web board with your new e-mail address.

Now to track you down someone has to get the message board to report your IP. Then we'd have to go to the owner of the Proxy server to get records on who was using the server when to go where.

Big hint... Use a proxy server outside the USA.

Now go write long threads about the RJDC and pay for training scams along with how Crazy Clown airlines will become the laughing stock of the industry.
