Can anyone tell me if a "LR-JET" type rating covers the Lear 31a? I tried looking online at the FAA web page but fell a sleep, imagine that, before I found the answer. Maybe I can be pointed in the right direction. Thanks

YES. The LJ-jet type is all 20's and 30's and 55 series airplanes. The 45/40 and 60 are seperate types.

The biggest problem I have seen this a pilot who got their training and experience in a 31 and then trys to fly a 20 series, especially a 23 or early 24. It ain't pretty.

But it sure is fun!!

Loved training piston or turboprop guys how to drive a 24, the smile on their faces said it all. Besides, it was fun betting beers, that they would overshoot the level off on the first takeoff!
