Well Ive finally got an interview with Express Jet. However I need some advice from the wise ones. A year ago my logbook was among the contents stolen from my car. Ive since then recreated the last year of my logbook using old 8710s and all my flight manifests from the part 135 company I fly for.

Is not having my old logbooks gonna get me kicked out of the interview? Do I even have a chance??

Any help would be awesome, Thanks....

I would just back it up with as much "hard evidence" ie: 135 records, trip sheets etc. as you can. And most importantly don't try to dance around it just be truthful about it.

Having said that, be prepared to answer in depth questions about the aircraft you have flown. You will absolutely get questions about them since you don't have logs to back it up.

Good Luck and hope to see you on line!!!!!

Agreed!! Bring documentation and old 8710 and you should be fine. JUst be truthful and just have a good attitude. Attitude is about 75% of the interview. Good luck

I wouldn’t worry about it too much, just make sure you’re VERY conservative about “logging” your flight times into your new logbook.

In addition, I would take all of the 8710’s and manifests and put them in a nice neat folder, categorized, in case they ask to see it to cross check the times with your new logbook. If you have a copy of the police report take that with you as well, hopefully you listed your pilot logbook as one of the items stolen.

Hope this helps, good luck with the interview.

What they said, plus copies of your 135 checkride paperwork.

Guys have come in with lost or stolen logbooks before and haven't had a problem. Just make sure it's nice and neat, and put a summary letter with your logbook explaining the loss so that the pilot who is auditing your logs knows what the dealie-o is.

I also had my logbook stolen - I was hired by expressjet.

as others have said here - come up with as much documentation as possible regarding flight time.

I had a copy of most recent 8710 and a notarized statement attesting to the best of my knowledge any time I accrued after my most recent 8710 stapled in the front of my new logbook.

Good Luck

Knowing first hand of how bad ExpressJet treats interviewees. Count on getting kicked out of the interview after you are humiliated in front of all of the other applicants.

They know that everyone they call for an interview is qualified for a job so they play little games and look for excuses not to hire you.

Such as: "All of your multi time is in a seminole. I'm sorry that airplane isn't more than 5000 mgtow, so go fly a learjet for 3 months and call us back. mmm'kay"
or "You're current flying job is part time, go and get your cfi and flight instruct for a month or two and call us back....ya i know you have 3000 and 500 you're not a fulltime pilot"

All my multi time was in a seminole and i got hired. Must have been just you. Xjet is a great place to work they just dont want to hire tools.

All my multi time was in a Duchess, and I got hired. You need to chill, man. I am not at XJT anymore(got furloughed and stayed put where I was). It IS a great company, and the interview is NOT a cake walk, especially on the "personality" and "attitude" side of things. YOU obviously didn't do too well in those areas. Anyway...

No.W.

I never went to an interview those stories are from a few pilots I know here at eagle. When Angela called me for an interview she was extremely rude and couldn't understand why I couldn't make it to an interview as I was in the middle of ground school at eagle. I applied 7 months prior and she could not understand why I wasn't waiting by the phone naked, masturbating to an ExpressJet poster waiting for a phone call for an interview.

You must admit though ExpressJet has a unique reputation with its interviewees. I just got a taste of it and didn't want anymore. It is said, that once past the interview it is a fantastic place to work. For those who put up with that treatment, congratulations and I hope the best for you. You won't regret it like so many of us do at eagle.
