I'm curious how do people get into corporate or charter heavy iron. Every ad I see, they want type ratings with time in type. Can't blame them, but how does one get it aside from forking out 25k+ for type?

Ideally, I'd like to get into a mid or large-cabin size airplane based in SoCal. It doesn't matter to me if it's 91 or 135.

Please PM me with any leads, advice, or just flame away right here. :D

Thanks!

Sage advice I received when I was in the Navy applies here:

"It ain't who ya know or who ya blow, its HOW ya Blow WHO ya know!"

Flashbang - good luck and good question. Trying to do the same thing here. One route you might try is at the fractionals - get hired, get the type and then fly contract on your days off! Or get some right seat work somewhere that has a lot of movement, build your SIC time and wait for the upgrade.

However you do it - good luck and let us know how it pans out!

Baja.
