I just got off the phone with a check pilot with Evergreen. I am thinking about turning in a resume and woundering about the working conditions and pay their! I am sure that this subject has been covered before but I was hoping to get some up to date info. Anyhelp would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Pay is on airlinepilotpay.com

Prepare for at least one furlough per year....sometimes 2. I know firsthand.

I worked there for almost 4 years in the operations department. It's a very unstable place with reagard to job security. The overall value of any one emplyee to Evergreen is small, luckily the pilots are the most valuable. Use caution.

I worked for Evergreen as a DC8 FO from 1990-1992. I was furloughed several times because of "loss of business", then called back several months later. Then furloughed again, etc. At the same time they were hiring for the 747, DC-9, and B727 fleets. They did not have company seniority at that time, each fleet had it"s own list and I wasn't offered another plane. I think they are still doing furloughing a lot as I have several friends who were furloughed last year (some twice in 2004).
I would not consider it a "stable" career job. But it is a "job".

I work at green. It is a very different place now with new management! We are very short pilots with lots of flying to do. They will tell you up front at the interview...."you can be laid off". In this day and age what company isnt.

What are their min req? Competitive req? benefits? and pilot bases? how much flying do they do?? QOL....thanx guys

Are they hiring? I couldn't find any hiring info on their website.

Yes they are hiring. They want 4500tt and 1500 PIC turbine. Mostly jet time. They are taking guys with alittle less time. They are not posting on the web site. Just send a resume via the email address on the site.

Base is JFK. no crash pad needed. They put you up in a hotel
Benefits are ok.
Lots of flying all over the world.

What are their schedules like? Are there long trips followed by long periods of time off? Is it feasible for a commuter from Anchorage to be employed by Evergreen?
