Anyone have info on Crashpads in the EWR/NYC area? Not much in the crashpad forum. Would rather crashpad in the city versus EWR but either will work for now. Start initial on the 8th for XJET expect to be in EWR out of training.

Thanks

If its a crash pad get as close to your base as possible...Nothing worse than it taking 2 hours to get to work because you would have rather lived in Manhatten.

I thought about that. The train from Penn Station doesn't take very long except early in the a.m. and late afternoons. I haven't heard anyone having problems with using the train to and from EWR. Am I being misled?????

Thanks for the warning

EWRcrashpad.com run by Pete Boilard and Russ Rideger. Pete is XJT and Russ is CAL. The Apt. are mix of CAL and XJT and a mix of line holders and reserves.

It is in Elizabeth, NJ which is 5 minutes from EWR. You will need a car. This is perfect crashpad it's nice and clean and Elizabeth is not a bad little city in the DAYTIME!

Most XJT crashpads are in NJ some have transportation, some are hotels like the Robert Treat. Some are cheap, but consider the location and what there is to do.

Being on reserve is hard and when you sit in a crashpad for 4 days and do nothing you go a little crazy.

There are lots of stores, restaurants, and bars nearby in Elizabeth. It's nice to have an apt with stove, microwave, fridge, and satellite TV, Can you tell I used to stay there?

Get a copy of the contract from CALALPA and don't let scheduling screw you. Good luck and welcome aboard.

Thanks for the tip WABORITA,

I will start reading the contract. I definitely want to be somewhere I can do some things. I will check out the website and take a look. I can't stand sitting around for 4 days. That WILL drive me nuts. Hopefully there is a gym nearby or something other than the bar. I will surely get in trouble quickly!!!

You guys are great thanks for the info.

Will have to buy you guys a beer when I run into you.

Cheers

Try to get on that TV show "The Aprrentice"---you can stay at Trump Towers for free---as long as you complete each task--then fly at night(vis continuous duty overnights---from EWR to SYR or something like that...)---and don't get "Fired..."

Bye Bye--General Lee:rolleyes:

General,
What a great Idea. I will just sleep on the train to and from. Nothing a few bottles of vivarin can't help me with!!! LOL
