First:

Is there a way to check your records on-line to see if an incident or accident is on there?
I checked the FAA site and you can see basic info. about yourself such as cert's and ratings and personals, but nothing about the former.

Second:

I am about to date myself, I started flying in the Seventies, made some life changing decisions and did not fly for 15+ years hence my low hours ( Iam sure Iam not the only that has done this).
Anyway I digress, back then when taking flying lessons it was required to get the FCC License ( almost 100% sure).
Question is Iam sure I applied for and received one; however I cannot find it; is it possible to get a duplicate, if so how? Or do I need to get a new one. Hope not it was free back then I think.

I'm sure there is a record of your certificate somewhere, but unless you plan to fly your own airplane across US borders, don't worry about getting it. My guess is that the nearest FSDO would have access to all the information you're looking for.

FCC permits and FAA records

You probably had a Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit. It might have been a brown-beige card in several parts that you filled out, sent to the FCC, which returned part of it to you with its date-stamp. I had to get one for radio after the FCC discontinued Third Class Radiotelephone Operator Permits during the '80s. It was also applicable to aviation.

In any event, you need the correct permit. Here's a link to the FCC site to get one.

You should also order all your airman and medical records from the FAA. Your airman records should reveal any certificate actions - although there are gaps through which some could fall. Here's the page to the FAA website to do that.

Hope that helps. Good luck with your efforts.

Thanks for the effort Bobby. Yeah I have been there should have mentioned it, I figured that would be the way, was hoping for something different not sure what. I think I will order them

Good Info on the FCC license tough I do believe that was it so I will get another if I have to.

Thanks
