Just wondering if anyone has a little imput on getting above the clouds. I'm a mid timer ( 6000Hrs ) all of which is in Alaska part 135, with basically just a multi-rating. I like what I am doing but have also wanted to get in some bigger equiptment. Since 9/11 I haven't really considered much since I have no college and barely any twin time. If anyone has a little advice that would be great.

The college issue is not a major area of concern and can usually be delt with but the "barely any twin time" issue may cause a few problems for you. You have the total time, experience, etc, etc, but without much multi-engine flight time I think your options are going to be somewhat limited. If I was in your situation I would look at operators in Alaska where you could build a substantial amount of multi time up in a short time period, then shoot for the stars. . .

Good luck,

Multi time

PIC multi is the name of the game. Try to get at least 200-300 and at the same time fire off materials to companies that would be your goal. You are certainly not too old and your Alaska 135 time is a definite asset. Maybe you can hang your hat at a night freight operator for a time to work into the multis.

Once you build your multi, you should be set. College certainly wouldn't hurt you and is something you should consider. Best of luck.
