Don't know of any personally but we did look into going there. Real pain getting "certified." I don't have all the info at home with me but there are forms to fill out and file, training to be done, demostration of ability, etc. More of a head ache than it's worth if you ask me. I'll take the drive from Luton any day.

I have read something about a fairly restrictive curfew also - sorry I dont remember details.

2000flyer, I've got that impression. Can you point me in the right direction. Where did you start or whom did you talk to. Boss has got a wild hair going. Thanks.

I'm not even sure that every airplane is capable of flying the required profiles into London City. You'll see a lot of BAe-146's in and out of there for that reason.

I don't have his name anymore, but I called the airport directly. You're international handler would probably have the name/number.

I will say the guy was extremely helpful and provided a bunch of usefull info. Like I said before, it was a nice idea but ended up being too much extra to justify once or twice a year.

Here is a list of approved aircraft:

Beechcraft 200/900

Beechcraft 350

Beechcraft C90

Bombadier Learjet 40

Bombadier Learjet 45

Bombadier Learjet 45 XR

Cessna Citation 2 (C550/C551)

Cessna Citation 5 (C560) and Citation Ultra

Cessna CitationJet (C525)

Cessna Citation Bravo

Cessna Citation Excel

Cessna Citation Encore

Cessna Citation CJ2

Dassault Falcon DA10/50/900B/900EX

Hawker HS800XP/800

Piper 31 Navajo

Piper 34 Seneca

Partenavia P68

Check out City's website for a lot of useful information and contact numbers. I just found their website again.

Here is Boeing's website for noice and airport regulations regarding City. Note the 3900'x98' runway and a 5.5° approach!

I'm sure the WSCoD London City certification is just a formality, WSCoddriver has probably been operating his WSCoD in and out of London City for months now, all while "beating the book numbers"!!!

A new software upgrade is fixing to come out for the WSCOD that will allow it to operate from 2500 foot unimproved runways. This will make operating out of the London city airport a walk in the park.

Just when I expected all threads to be hijacked by the infamous BBQ thread, now it seems the WSCoD bashing takes over.:D Throw in some beer and we've got a heck of a party! ;)

London City Airport...Ahhhh....home! Yeah those guys are very restrictive about what comes in and out. A lot of corporate outfits in the area use London Biggin Hill Airport. Not too far from the center of the city. Good commuter links without all the big airport hassle of STN, LTN, LHR and LGW. Just an idea if it's something you're looking to entertain.

One of them has (or at least had) this really good-looking girl working at it, but I can never remember if it was Luton or Stansted. I could never keep them straight unless I was looking right at the plate and dialing in the freq. Anyway, that's the one I would recommend going to. Maybe it was Biggin Hill though. Or Farnborough? I wish I could be of more help.

i saw a real cutie one time @ Biggin Hill (Biggin Hill Handlers); couple of cuties @ Signature EGGW as well
