Just started flying some mindnumbingly long flights with an IRO...Anybody know exactly how to log this? Do you just put your 8 hrs in regardless, or do you put the total time of the flight and then break it down somewhere else how much you actually flew?

I guess I should know this but what is an IRO?

International Relief Officer.
3rd pilot on a two crew airplane for international flying of more than
8 hours. Primary duty is that of movie critic.

OK, don’t they fly with several of these, or at least 2 complete crews so that they completely switch out. Or does the 3rd wheel just alternate relieving?

You log the whole time. It's your discretion if you want to break it down even further into your specific time at the controls.

Yeah?..Well, this doesn't belong under FAR's because what you are talking about is not regulated by the FAR's.
