I was recently lucky enough to land some time in a Citation SII, and was just wondering how I should log it. The pilot is certified to operate as a single pilot in the aircraft, and is not an MEI.

Also, I am Commercial Multi, with my high perf. sign off but not my high altitude..

Single-pilot Citation time logging

Unless the reg under which the aircraft was operating required an SIC and you were that SIC, qualified per regulation, you are SOL in terms of logging the time.

That doesn't make it a wasted experience, however. You probably learned something while watching the pilot fly it. Hopefully, you made nice to the guy and perhaps made a new contact. Maybe he'll take you again and you can learn some more. Making a good contact may prove more valuable in the long run than a bit of questionable time in your logbook.

How about this? Log the usual date-place-a/c type & N#, and flight time under TOTAL TIME only. Draw a line through all the other colums such as dual, PIC, single - multi, etc. It does not count for any of the pilot time as listed in FAR 61.51(b), but you can show a record for employment (or personal memoirs) in your logbook.
Another consideration:If the pilot is a CFII but not MEI, you could log instrument training time.

Forgot to mention that I was the one flying.

I still haven't been able to wipe the grin off of my face from pointing that baby at the sky with 1/4 load of fuel.. man we were gone....

I realize that I should only be logging this as a good time, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask.
