Anyone that has the PDA thing if you could let us know here or drop me a PM how it works...that would be fantastic!
I bought it last week, and so far it's worked great for me. While my students are filling out their logbooks, I'm putting the data into my Pocket PC. Then when I get home, I drop it into the cradle, sync, open LBP, and the data is transferred.

Some things I don't like about it:
-No memory of tail numbers in the PDA version, so you have to manually fill those in
-Aircraft type defaults to the first one in your list, so you have to remember to change that to the correct aircraft
-For the GA version, there is no real need for Out/Off/On/In times.
-In order to sync with LBP, I have to open LBP on my PC. The data should merge without having to do that.

There is supposedly an update to the PDA version due out this week. Hopefully they already address some of these issues. Anyway, I use the PDA during the week, and then reconcile with my paper logbook at the end of the work week (did it today). Works well for me.

And for all those LBP users out there, don't forget to make a backup. I backup weekly and keep one in a different folder on my HD, one on my USB HD, and one on CDRW (that I keep in the safe).

Expand on that?

I'm not the original poster, but I have the same complaint with the software. Functionally, Logbook Pro is decent. Interface-wise, it's a trainwreck.

Why does it have its own start menu? There's about 8 different ways to get to any one feature. More is not often better. Also, the menus are cluttered with ads and links to the website. If I want something from the website, I'm smart enough to go there. Evidently they don't agree and insist in cluttering the menus with crap. The same menu items are littered in multiple menus. The toolbar is redundant and does not follow current interface guidelines.

Why does it have a sound effect for everything? I know it can be turned off, but still. I'd like to think this is a professional product. You don't see Word or Excel having a sound effect for every button you press.

LBP doesn't follow Windows system-wide settings. I have all menu animation turned off in Windows, yet LBP insists on sliding out each menu. It's not attractive, it's stupid.

There's a lot more I have to complain about, but I'll spare you the agony. This program makes me thing the staff there bought a "Visual C++ for dummies" book and used every glitzy example in it. It just doesn't look very professional, yet it's targeted to a professional crowd.

Ok, that is good to hear the electronic way will save you time:)

Ok, I have already mentioned this to the logbook pro folks...its in the next update...which involves a complete rewrite...so it is not happening tomorrow :(

I WISH Logbookpro had Auto Complete. There is a big difference between Autofill and complete.

Like I have to type the n number EACH time it is different from the last entry. I can't type just the first couple numbers/letters of it and it anticipates.

Rather annoying....but not much can be done about it. Would not call it a deal breaker.

Well 519 flights entered and 491 hours...I am going to bed:(

When I entered my shizit in LBP, the N numbers were stored in a drop down menu in the windows style. I just had to input any new numbers that I used.

Yeah, that is the same on mine.

However, when I am doing the entries I dont have to use the mouse for anything. I just type the numbers and then use tab to tab over.

Makes it faster...and autocomplete would make it faster....

Hi guys. Has anyone figured out the best way to print the logbook using Logbook Pro? I'm a Mesaba guy getting ready for the meltdown and I'm trying to get my logbooks in order. I almost wish I hadn't. There is something unsettling about finding out I have 5500 SIC in a pink turbo prop. Thanks.
