Specific Description
Selected applicant will provide support to a unique ADP program. Applicants must have commercial pilot skills and experience to include operations in restricted airspace including MOA's, as well as operating in all classes of FAA controlled airspace. A commercial pilot certificate with instrument privileges and or an ATP rating and single and multi-engine ratings are required. Applicant must have a minimum of three years experience and have attained a minimum of 1500 flight hours in Turbo- Jet and/or turbo-prop aircraft. World-wide, day/night, instrument conditions operational experience is desired. Experience with employment/deployment of complex weapon systems, payloads and sensor packages is highly desired. Lesser experience levels will be considered on a case-by-case basis if experience supports job tasking. A combination of education and experience may be considered equivalent to degree requirements. Selected applicant must meet minimum medical requirements, which includes a company overseas physical and a current FAA second class physical. Candidates must be willing to train for, travel to, and work in austere remote locations and accept assignment to location for which selected. Must be willing to work extended shifts including holidays and weekends. Must have and maintain a valid U.S. passport, accept customer furnished quarters and comply with mobility requirements such as chemical warfare training and immunizations that may include anthrax and smallpox. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. For this particular position an active Top Secret security clearance, with a current background investigation is preferred. The candidate must agree to and successfully pass a polygraph examination.

General Position Description
Tests aircraft to determine compliance with specification and operational suitability. Operates models of test aircraft during engineering flight tests, production acceptance, and flight test support through specifically prescribed tests and maneuvers. Coordinates flight operations efforts. Approves cockpit configuration. May conduct demonstration flights with customers, government officials, or other personnel aboard to exhibit aircraft performance, flying qualities and system capabilities.

Typical Minimums
Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 9 years of professional experience; or 7 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree. Considered an emerging authority.

I'm guessing the desert(s) involved is(are) not necessarily in either California or Nevada.
 
I just looked up the req internally. Location is based in Palmdale (nasty). Bottom of the pay range is just over $100K. The internal req doesn't give any more info about which aircraft it is, but this is the skunk so it's not likely that they would.
