Who gets loading pay in the on-demand business? I know the pilots at IFL got $25 per trip loading pay. I was loadmaster working for $250/wk and did not get any loading pay.

We get $50 to load if it is a difficult or unusual load, but we get $25 an hour wait time after the first hour wether we are waiting on freight and another trip. We also get paid for all the miles the company bills even if we only fly oneway, and we get $1.50 per hour per diem. I hope this helps.

Never had gotten pay for loading. I guess if we don't load it we don't get to fly and we don't get paid:)

I get roughly $40 if I have to load/unload an aircraft. Still not enough compensation for the opportunity to throw out your back and possibly end your career.

What company do you work for Freight Dawg? I wish we got paid for all the miles billed and that much for wait time! We don't get paid anything for loading, but most of the time we pay the freight companys who drive he forklifts to load it as well. Must be nice. We do get $40 every once in a while for hard loads or big loose loads in the Falcons.

Geez, that is nice they throw you a bone once and a while. Everytime we get some odd ball load of weird stuff or seat covers we get a ... why is it taking so long? I don't understand...I have clicked my mouse 400 times since you landed...its not loaded?

Lemme call back in five minutes so I can check on it again so you can take your gloves off once again and answer the ringing phone.

Or something like that ;)

I do. I ain't gonna say how much because that wouldn't be right, but they do make it worthwhile to "handle" the freight. Having said that the cost for most ramp rats to load us is cheaper than paying JUST the FO, the captain is of course more becuase of getting his ego into the cargo door of the dc9 is almost impossible.:p

Hugs and kisses to all the "bosses"

Never got loading pay but a mate of mine used to fly into adison and one of the female rampers/marshellers used to bring him Subway once a week :)

I paid 12 bucks to get loaded the other night.
