Are they at all interested in a non-prior civy with all 900 hours but 0.5 hours in fixed wing? I'd love to land a pilot position with the CG but the recruiter I spoke with months ago pretty much smashed my hopes. Any thoughts?

Rambone,

Go find another recruiter.

If you're basing that question off the above message, it's aimed at enlisted maintenance techs/aircrew, not pilots.

Richard: You do need to talk to a recruiter, but it would be for OCS, or Officer Candidate School. Do a search on Coast Guard OCS and you should find a lot of info on it. Bottom line, though, if you get into OCS and graduate, you can then apply for flight training. That takes a year, year and a half. There is a small chance that you never got flight training, but that might be worth taking.
