is there a time limit on a recall notice? I mean after so many years does one lose their recall rights? Some folks are approaching 5 years on furlough (right?) will they be able to go back, someday? I remember some folks being furloughed for 11 years or so at US Air.

Andy said:Anyone know of any pilots who lost recall rights due to time limits?
I've heard of several past cases where they extended recall rights to allow everyone to come back who wanted to.
Spooky 2 said:Andy, many years ago the recall rights were fairly short. Certainly nothing beyond 5 years at the most. UAL even had a policy that basically precluded you from any reacall if you had worked for another carrier in the interim. This was early 60's stuff and thankfully that is no longer acceptable. Prior to all this crap the airlines are in now, Pan Am probably had guys out the longest, some in excess of ten years and as far as I know they were all given a chance to come back if they wanted to.

Thanks to all the senior jags that likely negotiated a longer furlough away for top captain pay of a few cents more. Meanwhile my "B" plan money of about $7000 is gone because I wasn't vested , and the union d|ickheads had me donate 500$ to a merger fund, just before they furloughed me. ALPA and ATA BLOW. Give me my money back!!!
