Liberia, Costa Rica (MRLB)?

Anyone been there? Any good nightspots? Got a trip coming up and didn't know if it was better than La Romana, D.R. Thanks all.TC

I get there frequently. Rent a car and drive to Tamarindo. It's about 1 hour SW, on the beach. Tamarindo Vista Villas is pretty cheap and decent, (but not 5 star.) The pool tiki bar is great, best sunset in town.

Right across the street is Witches Rock Surf Camp. http://www.witchsrocksurfcamp.com/
Mellow waves right out back, longboard rentals for $12.00 per day, cheap beer, decent food, and good looking surf chicks hanging around.

Best local beer is Pilsen. Watch out on the roads. Lots of potholes, and apparently, it's cool to cross into the other lane to avoid them, even if there's another car coming the other way at a high rate of speed. It gets real interesting in the mountains...

As far as Liberia itself, sleepy cow town, go to the beach..
