Is ALPA National the friend or foe of the Eagle Pilots?

Is it time to take a vote to decertify ALPA and find a union that doesn't have such a conflict of interest?

We hear our MEC is under incredible pressure from ALPA National to give in to APA's desire to take our vacancies. Why? Since ALPA National has a bias towards mainline carriers and since ALPA would love nothing more than to see AA pilots switch to ALPA, what better way for ALPA to sell AA pilots on the virtures and benefits of ALPA membership? If ALPA can successfully protect the AA pilots from the "Eagle problem", they can make big points with the AA pilots.

And we pay our dues for this?????

Kudos to our MEC for standing up to this pressure and for keeping up the fight for our vacancy rights! We were fooled by ALPA National when we accepted the disaster called our 16 year deal, but not again!

Gimme an f-in' break! YOUR MEC does what YOU tell it to do. ALPA National is only as involved as the AE pilots wish via input to their elected MEC/LEC Reps.

So ALPA National "tricked" you into signing a 16 year deal, huh? How about "you guys bought one seniority list and paid for it with a long-term deal?"

Go ahead and go out on your own.....see how much you get rolled over then.

If you **CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED** in your own bed be prepared to sleep in it!

Captain X-"Go ahead and go out on your own.....see how much you get rolled over then."

SWA,JB, and Airtran seem to be doing OK. Ask any W/O what Alpa's agenda is and you better be ready for a knuckle sandwich. Piedmont has just about finished a De-certification ballot. If you have friends like Alpa National representing Commuter pilots you don't need enemies. Alpa's disregard of "Duty of Fair Representation" is progressing thru the courts nicely. If you desire representation elect the Convicted Felons/ Ex Enron Corporate officer Association before the racket known as Alpa. The character and honesty level will be higher.

If the Eagle pilots succeed, that is a threat to ALPA National as it doesn't serve mainline interests.

Also ALPA wants nothing more than to get APA under its belt. If that means sacrificing the Eagle pilots, it's obvious that ALPA National doesn't mind.

But what we're trying to figure out is why we're paying dues to ALPA to be treated like this?

Teamsters anyone??
