Yet another way to say the same thing!
Question: Under Letter 3, how many AA pilots have or will have "vacancy" rights at Eagle?
Answer: ZERO
Question: Under the AA/APA TA, how many AA pilots have or will have vacancy rights at Eagle?
Answer: Potentially 1000's. Until we see the final language in the TA, one has to assume the worst. APA wants to give every furloughed pilot a right to recall into future RJ vacancies.
According to Letter 3, the ONLY pilots that have Eagle vacancy rights EVER are:
1. Eagle pilots using their Eagle seniority,
2. AA Flow Back pilots AFTER they have become Eagle pilots, using their Eagle seniority,
3. A Flow Back that got bumped off the jet, who chose to go back on the street, and then has a 10 year recall right into any jet vacancy.
NOTE: The first two are controlled by our 16 year Basic Agreement. The last one is an "exception" agreed to by four parties in Letter 3. The middle one isn't a Letter 3 exception, but how that AA pilot got to Eagle and that he starts with zero seniority in the left seat is.
But the kicker is that the AA pilot has to become an Eagle pilot to get ANY vacancy rights. Being at AA, furloughed or gainfully employed there, only entitles them to displacement rights - they have no vacancy rights whatsoever!
