How hard would it be to get a leave of absence when your spouse deploys for, let's say, 180 days. Is there a difference between airlines? Does anyone have any insight in how hard it would be in some non-flying job (I'm looking at Boeing).
If you are at a major right now then it may not be too difficult to get a LOA. Many airlines may furlough soon (thanks ALPA and the way you stood up for the junior pilots on age 65, sorry I digress) and will probably offer COLA's. Since staffing reductions are coming it may be easier to get an LOA now.
Every airline is different but where I work we have people on non Mil LOA's.
