Anyone have any tips, rules to live by, specific demons, or any additional tips on the 60 I would appreciate it. As well as any websites....we pic the Jet up next Tuesday from Bombardier/Lear....and school is coming quick! Thanks for the help!

it is a great plane. Just realize what it is... it isnt a very high climber at first, the wing is fairly small for the weight and power it has. Also on hot days when you are heavy and flying high, you may get winglet flutter, just a sign that you should slow down a bit until you burn some gas. If you have an APU, it may be kinda touchy at times... but still usually works well. The plane flies like a lear, so if you are used to that there are no surprises. Just follow the checklist on cruise altitudes when long ranging and you will be good. The plane has great range when flown correctly.

Also, it is a bit of a runway hog, so leave yourself a comfortable margin.

good luck!

Start/Gen & FADEC

Looks like the start/gen is a problem too! To much engine for the starter??? I have heard they usually fail before 300hrs. Also, how does the FADEC handle during wind shear...it seems weird not to have your hands on the throttle during approach?!?!

FADEC or autothrottle?

the 60 has FADEC... this is not an autothrottle. and you should always have your hands on the throttles during approach/landing. The FADEC has detents for certain power settings APR, TO, MAX CONT., CRUISE... and also regulates all engine parameters by reference to ADC'S and p1t1 or pt2tt2 probes ( I forgot which the 60 has)... Either way, the engines have a little lag due to the FADEC that you may not notice on an older pratt.

I have never had any problem with the Starters, but I don't fly the 60 anymore.
