Anyone have any info on the 45 AD on the APU? I think you have to disable the apu and disconnect the fuel line. I don't think they have any solution yet. Said something about fuel going into the wheel well and potential fire?

I recently heard, 30 days to cap the line to take the apu out of service. no solution found yet. problem is a leaky valve that can cause a fire.

Can bombardier please remake this airplane? Jesus they screwed this airplane up when they made it or should I say, pretended to make it. I hope production on this airplane doesn't continue much longer.

The 45 is a fine airplane for the mission it was designed for. Only problems I've had are with the APU. Perhaps they should've chosen an APU manufacturer worth their salt. And I do agree...SkiDoJet's customer service is terrible.

Hey, don't pick on Bombardier too much, we beat out Sabreliner when it comes to service last year. Now we are not last and CEO send out a nice memo (in French) telling us how awesome it is the we beat out a twenty year old aircraft when it comes to customer service. I guess the good thing is that this won't ground the whole fleet like when the stabs were falling off.

That’s a little dramatic. The problem jackscrew was discovered on a high time Singapore Airlines LR-45 used for training pilot candidates. These airplanes get used and abused each day. They then get put away wet on an open ramp next to the Ocean in Australia.

What was dramatic was the FAA’s knee jerk reaction in deciding to ground the entire fleet.
Did the FAA ground the 737 fleet after the crashes linked to the rudder hardovers? What about the A300 that’s tail fell off? Oh yah, that was pilot error.

Give me a break.

I agree, I think Bombardier does not have their engineering in line and can't deal with the FAA. We had our APU fuel valve leak over a year ago, and now it comes to an AD. This should have been taken care of ASAP.

And....Why does the 45 need a special APU valve? How many APU's or out there on other airplanes with proven valves? Poor judgement to use a "special valve" on this application.
