During the DL/US Airways arguements, some people referred to Airways as LCC. What was that about?

The old US Air is no longer. When America West bought USAir they chose to take on the US Air name for marketing reasons only. There are really only 5 legacies now and LCC is not one of them.

I think you will find AWA did not buy U, a seperate entity purchased them both.
