I've got to go from LAX to SNA in a few days. I know what GDC says the burn will be on this route: KLAX..LAX-V25-ALBAS..SLI..KSNA.

Is that a realistic routing or will they take me way out east to get in line on the KAYOH?

Thanks.TC

look in the Jepps for the preferred routing. I always have good luck hearing, "Cleared as filed" when I use that up in the Northeast.

TC, the routing you have is fine. They'll bring you out over the water in the channel between Catalina and Palos Verdes, then over land on a downwind for 19R at SNA.

Call me when you get there...

Hey ya ole' strut wiper, just go VF n' R and you'll get the routing you want!

(You G-boyz are such pansies)

.....and watch out for traffic:eek: As for the 200 kts, doesn't apply to us, because we're......or never mind!

For what it's worth TC, LAXX 5 departure SLI, and 5000' for jets (I guess that includes GV's  )

Thanks all (except you XTW...). We do LAX-LGB all the time and it's simple.

Thanks for the heads up on the 200 kts., too. We don't spend too much time below Class B.

HMR--I'll get my 'Caneman Autograph Sony Camcorder' and video the trip for you! TC

XTW--Slag finally got a job! AFT, too.

Your routing will work fine... They won't bring you out to the East.

Newport Beach area is a nice place to hang out and not too far from SNA. Try and get English to pick up the bar tab and you'll be just fine... :)

Unfortunately, we must continue on to LAS. Besides, I already committed to buying the first round... :( TC

P.S.--Do you still need that info you asked for?

Can't believe you didn't ask me, you corporate snob. The 200 kts below LAX class B is firm. And TRACON will not intentionally lead you into a trap. You will most likely depart west, be over water and usually enter a right downwind to SNA.

Lookin at my log's I did that flight four times on the 757 (always the same profile). The last one was on 10/07/98 with Ed Batchelor. We spent the day before watching the inaugural off shore power races from his friends 40 footer.

Edited because I forgot the little smiley face my friend. Screw you XTW, I hated that ugly Mustang, and you owe me a beer.

And I will forever hold you to it... :)

What preferred routing?

That's for wussies! :)

File direct! They will love you for it!

Bwah ha ha ha ha!!!!

And the 200 knots under the class B! What's up with that! Do they think you have a map or sumpthin?

Oh, it turns out they do ask... "Options xxx, what is your indicated?" "Ahhh 200 kts." "Oh that's nice, you have 70 kts overtake on the King Air ahead how is also doing 200kts. Do you know where the Class B airspace is?" "Well sir, we're looking."
